FRANCESCA MCGUIRE

Associate

Francesca joined Rower LLC in 2023 and works on all aspects of family and matrimonial law, including financial divorces, custody, and prenuptial agreements. Drawing from her background in corporate law, she values helping clients through contract drafting processes that are both transactional and collaborative. She maintains an active pro bono practice in New York and works with low-income individuals on matters related to divorce, child custody, and domestic violence.

Prior to joining Rower, Francesca was a corporate associate at Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP and Mintz LLP. She focused her practice on capital markets transactions and leveraged finance. She represented public and private companies in a variety of industries, including financial services, technology, and healthcare. In her pro bono practice at Mintz LLP, Francesca represented several clients seeking asylum in the United States, and her passion for individual advocacy led her to transition to matrimonial and family law.

Francesca graduated from the University at Albany, SUNY, summa cum laude, with a degree in journalism. She later attended Albany Law School, from which she received her JD in 2019, magna cum laude. She graduated as a Pro Bono Scholar for her commitment to working on behalf of marginalized and underrepresented groups at the Office of the Federal Public Defender. While in law school, she was a teaching assistant in Constitutional Law. She also served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Daniel J. Stewart of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York.

Francesca lives in Brooklyn and spends as much time as possible in upstate New York. When she’s not working, she enjoys yoga, pilates, trying new restaurants in the city, and spending time with friends and family.
