Dilpreet Rai is a fearless and meticulous litigator with a keen understanding of a myriad of complex issues in divorce and custody disputes.
Dilpreet K. Rai has been exclusively practicing matrimonial and family law since 2011. She has represented individuals in all aspects of matrimonial and family law, including complex equitable distribution, child custody and visitation, child support, spousal support, paternity, orders of protection, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, post judgment enforcement, and custody and support modification matters. She has successfully argued complex cases involving interstate and international child support disputes. Dilpreet has lectured on various topics of matrimonial law such as equitable distribution and spousal support.
Dilpreet began her legal career in 2005 as a complex commercial law litigator at Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP where she gained valuable experience with sophisticated financial disputes in federal and state courts. During her tenure, she was also recognized for her commitment to pro bono work on a variety of family law matters, including her representation of individuals in Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) immigration cases, assisting with obtaining temporary orders of protection in New York family court, and uncontested divorces.
An active community member, Dilpreet belongs to the South Asian Bar Association of New York and is a member of the Supreme Court New York County Matrimonial Advisory Committee. She sits on the board of directors for the Sikh Academy for Gurmat Education (SAGE).
Dilpreet lives with her husband and three children in Hoboken, New Jersey.
